A gentle haptic prompt that detects sustained back-sleeping and supports a return to side sleeping.
SideTrack combines position sensing, adjustable vibration and a night-by-night record for structured side-sleep practice.
A closer look
SideTrack is a compact wearable that detects sustained supine sleep and responds with a gentle, progressive vibration until the user changes position. Adjustable delay and sensitivity reduce unnecessary prompts during brief turns, while local history shows time spent in each position from night to night. Positional therapy can reduce apnea severity in people with confirmed positional obstructive sleep apnea, although CPAP generally lowers AHI more and the evidence does not apply when events are not position-dependent. Here, the device serves as a side-sleep habit trainer; it does not diagnose obstructive sleep apnea from snoring, sleep position or wearable data.
The details that matter
- Accurate supine-position detection with adjustable delay
- Progressive haptic cue with quiet, partner-friendly operation
- Nightly supine-time trend and adherence history
- Comfortable chest/neck/back mounting determined by validated design
- Local controls and no mandatory subscription
Why it belongs
SideTrack gives a simple behavioral prompt a measurable record while keeping the distinction between sleep-position practice and medical assessment clear.
What the evidence supports
Positional therapy can improve AHI in positional OSA; CPAP is generally more effective, and results do not apply to non-positional disease.
What it is designed to do
Detects sustained back-sleeping and provides an adjustable haptic cue to support side-sleep practice; it does not diagnose sleep apnea.
Use and care
People with suspected sleep apnea should obtain a proper assessment. Do not use where position change is medically restricted or where the wearable could interfere with implants, wounds or mobility.
